Madsen</i>” as Chief Deputy for John R. Abernathy, 1p, 4to, Guthrie, Apr 20, 1907. On Department of Justice, Office of United States Marshal, Territory of Oklahoma letterhead to the Clerk of US court in Beaver County, OK. Madsen returns a “<i>summons issued by you for Seawell, et al, who cannot be found in this District...According to a letter received from the Deputy...one of the men is probably in Beaver Co., and if you can find out where he is I will send you the writ at any time</i>...” Boldly signed. Light general wrinkling; diagonal crease at top left corner; else VG/Fine. Madsen witnessed Buffalo Bill Cody’s scalping of Cheyenne warrior Yellow Hand. He joined Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Riders in 1898 and was named US Marshal for Oklahoma in 1911.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
