CHIPPENDALE TALL CASE CLOCK.
John Fessler, Frederick, Maryland, ca.1790, mahogany and pine. Broken-arch pediment with floral rosettes, case with glass door, and resting on a molded base. Original 8-day movement with a sun-moon dial and boldly signed "John Fissler Frederick Town." Imperfections. 102 1/2"h.

Condition: Essentially, this clock was Victorianized. The feet were replaced, the door was refitted with beveled glass, the original hinges are still there, but ornaments were added, and a fancy escutcheon was added overtop the original keyhole. However, the original dial paint is largely there with some losses, the finials are original as well. This is a clock well worth restoring. Retains weights and a pendulum.
