CHIPPENDALE FOUR-DRAWER CHEST. Attributed to Hartford, Connecticut and the hand of George Belden. Refinished cherry with pine secondary wood. Ogee feet with scalloped returns and a cove molded base. Dovetailed case. The drawers are dovetailed and have beading around the openings. Reeded pilasters and cove molded edges around the two-board top. Old replaced brasses. Restorations to the right rear foot including a partially replaced facing. Minor pieced restorations to the back edges. Ex Gary and Martha Ludlow. Case is 36 1/2"w., 40 1/2"w. at the feet. 21"d. 38"h.
