CHINESE WARLORD COPY OF MAUSER BOLO, DATED 1940.

Cal. 7.63mm. S# 0380. The Chinese held the Mauser C96 in the highest esteem and made many unauthorized copies including this very roughly finished but all matching Bolo w/ 4" bbl. having a banded fixed front sight & a slip in rear sight graduated from 50-1000. Short extractor & single lug firing pin. "S" within a triangle marked over the chamber. S# in lg. font numerals on the left side of the bbl. extension. The year "1940" surmounted by 2 Chinese letters, that translate "North West", is on the island on the left side of the frame. Serrated wood grips. Lanyard ring present. Disassembly shows all matching numbers on the marked parts, many of which were hand made. CONDITION: generally good, the finished metal having a blue / brown tone w/ scattered freckling. Comparable condition grips that are oil stained & worn. The left panel w/ a thin crack near the top. Dull bore w/ easily discernable rifling. Action sluggish. Hammer will cock but not reliably. Safety intact but needs adjustment as it is presently loose. An interesting & all matched Chinese made C96 from a fascinating period in Eastern European history (22-3177/LMA). CURIO. $1,500-3,000.
