Kearsley,, 1789FIRST EDITION, with the engraved plate of Chatterton's handwriting, pages vi, 263, (1, advertisements), 8vo, pleasantly bound in recent boards, with label : a very good copy.Although an accomplished forger, Chatterton was highly regarded by Shelley, Byron, Scott, Campbell, Southey, Wordsworth and Walpole. He died by his own hand in his seventeenth year. His life, work, and tragic death had a powerful effect on the Romantic imagination.
