London: Chapman & Hall, 1836-1837. 20 parts bound in 19. 8vo, original green printed wrappers (parts 1-10 later reprint variants 18-20 per Hatton & Cleaver; parts 11-19/20 original issue with variant combination), cloth backed clamshell case by Riviere & Son, with 43 engraved plates by R. Seymour and Phiz. First edition, largely first state text (mixed first and later states parts 12 and 19/20), 22 of 43 plates in first state, lacking Pickwick Advertiser in all but two parts, with 15 of 34 back inset ads (plus two not noted in Hatton & Cleaver), lacking four front inset ads, per usual, four of seven Author and Publisher Addresses are present, including the Address by Dickens in part 15 explaining the absence of the part for the preceding month.
