CDV, ca. 1870's, of a young, fresh-faced soldier. Photographed in a sitting position, he is shown from the chest up in full uniform. Backmark reads: ''New York Gallery, 1144 Market St., San Francisco.'' Also written in ink on the back is, ''G. H. Howland, 3rd Sergeant & Quartermaster.'' Measures 2'' x 3'' and is in good condition with no major flaws. Lovely photograph.
