CDV of John G. Ogg, 124th New York Infantry ''Orange Blossoms,'' Company F. Pencil notation to verso. Ogg mustered into service at 23 years-old on 5 September 1862. He was wounded in action at Chancellorsville on 3 May 1863 and died of his wounds on 26 June 1863 at Alexandria, Virginia. A distinguished regiment, the 124th New York ''Orange Blossoms'' is listed as one of Fox's 300 Fighting Regiments. CDV copied from an earlier daguerreotype. Minor wear and soiling to card mount, otherwise very good.
