William Hardee, a renowned veteran of the Mexican War whose trademark “Hardee’s Tactics” informed his book “Rifle and Light Infantry Tactics.” Photograph pictures Hardee in his pre-war U.S. uniform, with a double-breasted coat and tasseled epaulets. Backmark: “Published by E. Anthony 501 Broadway New York, From Photographic Negative in Brady’s National Portrait Gallery.” A pencil inscription: ''Gen Hardee.'' Image measures 4” x 2.25”. Good condition.
