CDV OF COL. ALLEN H. JACKSON, 134TH NY. Anonymous vignette with period pencil identification on verso. Having previously served in the 91st NY. Jackson joined the new 134th as Major rising to Lt. Colonel by March 1863. Jackson commanded the regiment at Gettysburg and was in the thick of the heavy fighting of July 1st that cost the regiment 252 casualties. After Cemetery Hill Jackson effectively led the veteran 134th through the Chattanooga and Atlanta campaigns where he was slightly wounded at Peachtree Creek on May 20. He mustered out in June 1865.
