CDV of Major Edmund Y. Morris of the 6th New York Heavy Artillery. Image signed, ''Yours Respectfully / E.Y. Morris / Major 6th N.Y.A.'' Morris enlisted as a Captain on 26 August 1862 and was commissioned into the 6th New York in September. He mustered out as a Major on 28 June 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. The 6th New York Heavy Artillery served in the Railroad Division and later at the defenses at Harper's Ferry. Image measures approximately 2.5'' x 4''. Overall light foxing, soiling and wear, else very good condition.
