CDV of George F. Wixson of the 5th Maine Light Artillery. Signed in ink to verso, ''George F. Wixson / 5th Maine Battery.'' The 5th Maine Battery were engaged at Cedar Mountain, Second Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Mine Run, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, and in Sheridan’s Shenandoah Valley campaign. Image measures approximately 2.5'' x 3.5''. Corners clipped; slightly shaved at top and bottom. Vertical crease along left side of image, without losses. Overall, good condition.
