CDV of Corporal Harvey M. Stocking of the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery, Company I. Inscription to verso reads, ''Harvey M. Stocking, Wolcottsville, Conn., Co I 1st C V H A.'' Harvey Stocking enlisted as a Private on 23 May 1861 and was promoted to Corporal on 14 November 1864. He was mustered out at Washington, D. C. on 25 September 25 1865. The regiment was engaged in battle at Petersburg, Arlington Heights, Yorktown, Malvern Hill, Cold Harbor, Gaines' Mill and Richmond. Image measures 2.5'' x 4''. Very good condition.
