CDV of Sergeant Major Duane M. Hall of the 123rd New York Infantry, Company E. Ink inscription to reverse reads, “Compliments of Duane Hall / Sergt Maj 123 NY.” Hall mustered into service at age 24 on 10 August 1862 and mustered out as a 2nd Lieutenant on 8 June 1865 at Washington, DC. The 123rd New York suffered losses at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Resaca, Dallas, Kennesaw Mountain and Atlanta. Image measures 2.5'' x 4'' and shows light overall toning and mild foxing, else very good condition.
