With engraved frontispiece by Grignion after Wale, pages (2), 388, leaf D5 a cancel, 8vo, contemporary calf, gilt bordered sides, attractive fully gilt spine, with label, gilt : a very little wear at headband, a small circular stamp on the title-page and the usual light foxing, but still an attractive copy, handsomely bound, with the armorial bookplate of Robert Ruttledge. With an engraved frontispiece by Grignion after Wale, pages (2), 388, leaf D5 a cancel and also slit as if for cancelling (!), 8vo, contemporary red morocco, gilt bordered sides, fully gilt and lettered spine, edges gilt, silk marker, marbled endpapers : small circular stamp on title and with the usual browning of text : a very good, attractively bound copy with the armorial bookplate of Edward Odell ('Quantum in rebus inane') and neat, very legible pencil notes signed "E.O" on the front flyleaves regarding the provenance of the book.
