(pp. 183-184 dubbel geteld en pp. 359-360 verkeerdelijk ingevoegd tussen 364-365 in vol., een drietal marginale inscheuringen zonder verlies). Eigentijdse vollederen band : platten met omkadering van vergulde rolstempel, rug met ribben (platten gewreven en geschaafd, slijtage aan hoeken, kleine beschadigingen aan de kapjes, rug inwendig gedeeltelijk gebroken). Mooie en rijkelijk geïllustreerde uitgave bevattende in het 1ste deel : een gegraveerde titel, 3 tussentitels met vignet, het portret van Cats door M. Natalis naar Dubordieu en 273 emblemen, allegorieën en andere tekstfiguren op koper gegraveerd door J. Swelinc, J. Matham, D. van Bremden, W. Hondius, C. van Dalen en J. Goeree naar A. van de Venne e.a. In het tweede deel treft men het portret van Cats op 77-jarige leeftijd, het portret van Anna Maria Schuurman, 2 gegraveerde tussentitels, een tussentitel met groot vignet en 2 platen buiten tekst waarvan 3 op dubbele bladzijde (deze laatsten stellen voor : het huwelijk als visfuik en het sterfbed van Fred. Hendrik van Oranje; de plaat "Sic transit gloria mundi" ontbreekt) en 143 tekstfiguren waarvan 1 op volle blz.IHFZ Même édition que supra (incomplet d'une planche sur double page, 3 déchirures marginales sans perte). After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 3.000 BEF will be send by registered post.
Payment Details:
Payment will be made in Belgian Francs. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 7.000 BEF or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Belgian francs (BEF).
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 50.000 BEF.
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
