England, last quarter-19th century, brass. Fitted mahogany case with a brass handle containing a compound monocular microscope with triple turret nosepiece, three objectives with boxes. Microscope marked for "J.SWIFT & SON, LONDON." One objective box marked "Wray / London". With a specimen slide marked "Parasite from Skeldrake". 6"h. 12"w. 8 1/2"d.
