CASED COLT 1860 FLUTED ARMY REVOLVER WITH SHOULDER

STOCK. Cal. 44. S# 3056. Bbl. 8” round w/ New York address & German silver blade front sight. Full fluted six shot cyl. Four screw action w/ recoil shield cut for stock attachment. Iron backstrap w/ brass trigger guard. Front grip strap & both sides of trigger guard are stamped w/ “6”. 1 piece walnut grip, left panel has cut marking that appears to read “PIN”. Bbl., frame, grip straps & wedge have matching numbers. Total production of the fluted cyl. army’s is estimated at 4,000. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added shoulder stock with an artificially aged apperance. Buttplate peak, lower tang, inside of lower tang & stock channel are marked w/ S# “1991”. Cartouches “CG” are found on top of yoke & buttplate. Inspector’s mark “H” is found on lower tang. Comb of stock is stamped five over partially legible inspection mark. Toe line of stock behind tang is stamped “V”. Right ear of stock has a visible cartouche. Shoulder stock is housed in a period style trade casing w/ brass shield in lid have brass corners & trim. Red cloth fitted interior shows fading & wear. Other accessories include navy size American eagle powder flask w/ patriotic themed engraving, 2 cavity bullet mold, nipple wrench, cap tin, case key & round balls. Also included in an empty package for six combustible envelope cartridges. CONDITION: metal finish shows a dark brown patina w/ scattered pitting. Trigger guard shows traces of silver finish having a dark patina appearance. Grips show heavy wear & dents w/ chips at butt. Action is worn, cyl. does not index properly. Bore retains sound rifling showing scattered pitting. (01-22838/JB). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
