CASED COLT 1851 LONDON NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36 Perc. Fine London Navy with 7-1/2” oct bbl, cone front sight with 1-pc walnut grips. The space between each of the nipples and the left side of bbl lug have British proofs. It is accompanied by an original London Agency compartmented casing with blue velvet lining contains a Dixon Navy size bag flask, a blued Colt’s Patent two-cavity mold for conical and round bullets, an “L” shaped nipple wrench screw/driver, a metal National Arms and Ammunition Co. cap tin containing lead balls, an all-iron wiping rod and the original key. The inside of the lid has the.label “DIRECTIONS FOR LOADING COLT’S PISTOLS”. SN 30771. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 75-80-% strong bright original blue with the balance flaked to a light patina with minor muzzle and edge wear. The operating handle and rammer have traces of case colors with the balance turned silver while the pivot retains good faded colors. The frame retains 50-60% case colors, strong and bright in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. The iron trigger guard and backstrap, have traces of original blue in the sheltered areas being mostly a silver-gray patina with moderate pitting on the backstrap. Grips are outstanding with minor nicks and scratches; sharp edges and retain 93-95% strong bright original varnish. The cylinder retains 10-15% original blue with the balance flaked to a light patina and it retains about 95% Naval battle scene. Five of the 6 safety pins are nearly intact. Brilliant shiny bore. The case has a slightly faded lining with wear impressions from the revolver with some front sight damage. The divider for the cleaning rod compartment is missing and so is the lid. The flask retains about 75% original finish. The mold has 50-60% original finish with light pitting. The wiping rod is fine. The label in the lid is yellowed with scattered foxing and wear from the cylinder. The exterior is sound and retains most of its original strong bright varnish. The lid has been reglued. 4-49953 JR358
