CARVED POWDER HORN.
Engraved "Asahel Taet His Horn 1776 Ticonderoga 18 September," along with birds and deer. 13 1/2"l. Ex McGuire estate of Tallmadge, Ohio.

According to tradition, this horn descended in the Doolittle family, which had settled in Ohio by the middle of the 19th century.

Condition: Missing cap and plug, 2" by 4" chunk has been broken and glued.
