The walrus ivory knob on this cane is beautifully carved into the head of a lion holding a snake in its mouth. Thelion has glass eyes, the snake does not, but it is unclear whether it ever did. The handle is 3.25" high, 1.25" at itsmaximum diameter. The silver collar is .5" wide, and there is a sterling band about 2" lower on the shaft that is achain of 5 ovals. The shaft is light, cherry-colored hardwood. The ferrule has been replaced with a crutch tip. Somewear to finish of shaft, especially in middle section. Overall length, 34.5".(EST 400-600)
