The L-shaped handle on this cane is carved from 2 pieces of bone joined at the "elbow" of the handle. The "L" is3.75" wide and 3.5" high, with a shield carved in high relief on the vertical portion. The 1.25" wide, approx. 700silver, collar has a shield with "H. Maag" inscribed on it, surrounded by scrollwork designs. The malacca shaft endsin a worn nickel ferrule, about .75" long presently. There are minor drying cracks on bone handle as well as shortcracks around edges of collar, collar is somewhat discolored, some discoloration of bone around pins joining the 2pieces together, and ferrule is worn at an angle. Some wear to shaft finish, and "H.M." incised into shaft near collar.Overall length is just less than 33.5".(EST 400-600)
