The walrus ivory knob handle on this cane has a shield-like scroll and leaves & berries carved in relief on the side.The scroll is monogrammed "W.H.F." The handle is 5" high and nearly 1.75" maximum diameter. There is a gussetcollar of zinc or tin that attaches the handle to the bamboo shaft. There is one shrinkage crack at the top of the shaft,and it has no ferrule. Total length, 35".handle is excellent (no cracking), but wear is apparent on the monogram(EST 200-400)
