CARTIER AN EMERALD AND DIAMOND RING the pear-shaped emerald weighing 9.74 carats to the tapered baguette-cut diamond shoulders, size 12/52 signed Cartier Paris with SSEF report no. 36951 dated 15 March 2001 stating that the emerald is of Sandawanese origin, with moderate oil clarity enhancement CHF 50,000-60,000 - $ 30,000-35,000 Found in the Sandawana mines of Zimbabwe in Africa, Sandawana emeralds have recently grown in popularity. The emeralds are usually found in very small sizes, most often under a carat in weight. on the very rare occasion that a large stone is discovered, the clarity of the emerald is rarely clean. Under the surface of the stone can be seen thin, colorless, needle-shaped crystals made of the mineral tremolite, which are characteristic of Sandawana emeralds. Despite their presence, they do not compromise the rich yellow-green color and transparency of these stones. This stone is a particularly rare example combining large size, excellent color and clarity.
