After attending Southwestern, as well as the James Lee Art Academy in Memphis, he moved to New York as a cartoonist. While in New York he took classes at the Art Students League with regionalists Arnold Blanche and William McNulty. He soon discovered he was not meant to be a cartoonist, but that he had a talent for lithography. He moved out west and finally to Mexico. Wherever he was, Cloar's art was about rural life, rural folks, old buildings, the South, and the Southwest.<B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
