Embellised with two views of the source of the Scamader, and the aqueduct over the Simois. Printed by William Bulmer and Co., Shakspeare Printing Office ; for John White, 1805FIRST EDITION, with 2 aquatint plates of views, pages (4), xvi, (3), 149 (i.e. 145), with the half-title and the 8-page subscriber list, 4to, contemporary half calf, gilt ruled and lettered spine : the binding worn and the upper joint cracked, but still a very good copy.Carlyle travelled as part of Elgin's embassy to the Porte intending to gain access to the Seraglio Library.
