CARL GUSTAV JUNG (1875-1961) Swiss psychiatrist, founder of analytical psychology; an early associate of Freud. TLS, "C G Jung", 1p, April 29, 1946, large 4to, Zurich, personal letterhead, in German, to Dr Robert Eisler, in England. Discusses publication of Eisler's work in a professional journal, the possibility of his lecturing at a psychology club; and commenting on a letter he has received from a patient, who now rejects treatment. In part, "...The Editor of the Swiss Journal of Psychology has expressed to me his willingness to publish your work...I have taken the liberty of annotating in pencil in the English draft...a few places which seem questionable or which could be improved...I understand that the programme of lectures at the Psychology Club for the current year is already drawn up...I have received a letter from Professor Forrer in which he strenuously rejects the idea of medical attention and explains that what he needs most is rest and privacy. In these circumstances I naturally will not interfere, because anyway, nothing can be accomplished against the desire of the patient..." After Freud, Jung was the greatest luminary in the development of psychology and psychiatry. First couple of letters in signature are a little light, o/w VG. Impressively matted with a portrait and identification plaque. Handsomely framed in carved wood. $600-800
