Maryon Kanteroff, born in Toronto in 1933, is one of Canada's most recognized sculptors. Her scholastic studies included piano, art, archaeology and American Ethnology, and she is a past assistant curator of the A.G.O. In 1974, Ms. Kanteroff established the Toronto Art Foundry, she is a founding member of the Toronto New Feminists and continues to be active in many human rights organizations. Her work as been exhibited throughout North America and Europe, and her private commissions include large works for the Canadian Embassies in Mexico City and Tokyo. During her career as a sculptor, Ms. Kanteroff has produced a few limited pieces of jewellery.
