<B>CAMPO DEL CIELO - SINGULAR NATURAL SCULPTURE FROM THE SKIES </B></I><BR> <I>Iron, coarse octahedrite<BR>Gran Chaco, Argentina</B></I><BR>Its twisted form and the strange thumbprint-like impressions (regmaglypts) covering the surface of this unearthly natural sculpture unmistakably betray its extraterrestrial origins. Discovered in the "Valley Of The Sky" in Argentina, this meteorite is in fact from the ground above the valley, considerably more protected from rust-causing water, oxidants and adverse weather conditions than its companions found on the valley floor. The warm patina and hints of dully shining iron mixed with reddish-brown rust traces lend it an incomparable character, and it is no wonder that fine examples from this location such as this are highly prized by collectors. Measuring 9½ x 6¼ x 7 inches and weighs 27 pounds.
