Incorporated May 28th, 1888. It was a short, 7.5, narrow gauge rail line between Yreka and Montague. The line had one locomotive, one passanger car, three frieght cars, and two other cars. The company had five directors and four directors, one of which was the Siskiyou County Bank and the other the City of Yreka. The line was originally put in place to serve the mines in the area as well as connect the city of Yreka to Montague where a main line for the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad was located. This is an ultra rare stock certificate for Yreka Railroad Company. Certificate has a vignette in the top left corner of a railroad running between a town and a mine. The border is decorative with decorative text and a highly decorated company name. A company seal is present in the bottom left corner. This is certificate No. 249 for 25 shares issued to Maruice Renner. It is signed by both the secretary and the vice president of the company. The certificate was cancelled and stamped February 17 1906. "Maurice Renner #271" is written on the back as well as a note from the secretary written in red ink. The certificate has a tear in it and has been pasted back together using another piece of paper. Dated June 17, 1902.
