A single-page letter from Gen’l. Sup’t. John Allman to the Gen’l. Supt. of the Union Pacific Railroad, requesting that he be given a pass. The letterhead contains a nice vignette of a stagecoach with six horses racing through pine trees. The company offered service from Duncan’s Mill to Mendocino City, Cloverdale to Novarro Ridge, Calistoga to Lakeport, and Marysville to Grass Valley. A printed note on the reverse explains the company’s daily routes in detail. Datelined San Francisco. Measures 7 ½" x 10 ½.”
