1922-This is a beautiful example of railroad advertising art from 1922. It advertises “The Days of 49” celebration that was held in Sacramento, California on May 22-28, 1922. The event commemorates the California Gold Rush which occurred 90 years earlier, up the American River in Coloma. The framed and matted poster measures 38”x 27” and is ready to hang. It has vibrant colors and depicts a 49er and his donkey, overlooking the city of Sacramento. Although there is no railroad named on the poster, a note at the bottom advertises special excursion rates for the event. This is a classic piece of artwork that would go great in a train room.
