Lot of 6 commemorative silver spoons. 1) Measures 5 1/2" in length, 1 1/4" in width at the largest point of the bowl. The handle is decoratively engraved with leaves and acorns. At the top of the handle is a pan with "California" at the top and engraved ore painted gold resting at the bottom of the pan. A pick and ax behind the pan and on top of the pan is a profile view of a small bear standing at the edge of a cliff. "Nevada City Cal." is engraved in the center of the mouth of the bowl. A very small metal chain or rope is wrapped around the handle. Gold colored mouth of the bowl. Although dull, condition is fine. 2) Measures 4" in length, 3/4" in width at largest point of the bowl. This spoon is decorated the same as the previous with a smaller bear at the top and "Nevada City Cal." in the bowl is in a different more elegant font. Fine. 3) Measures 5" in length, 1 1/8" in width. Same handle design, with a bucket at the top in replace of the bear. Engraved in the gold colored bowl is, "Carnegie Public Library Nevada City Cal." There is also an image of the library and a few trees engraved as well. Fine. 4) Measures 4 1/4" in length, 3/4" in width. Simple design on handle, mule standing at the top with "Nevada City Calif" under, as the mule is carrying supplies on its back. "Love, Ric" is engraved at the bottom of the bowl. Dull with stains, good. 5) Measures 5 1/2" in length, 1" in width. "California" engraved vertically down the handle, "Eureka" at the top with man sitting next to a bear, shield, and torch in his right hand with miners in the background. Gold colored mouth of the bowl. Fine. 6) Measures 4 3/4" in length, 1" in width. A native stands with an ax over his head. He wears only a small piece of cloth covering his groin, petite moccasins, rope-like necklace, and feather "hat". In the bowl, "Lone Pine Nevada City Cal." with an engraved image of mountains and trees. Spoon metal is very thin compared to the others. Good.
