#1: Stock: Incorporated under the Laws of South Dakota, no date; Certificate No. 419 issued December 18, 1907 to S.J. Hernstadt for 1000 shares; signed by Saua F. Lindsay, President and F.P. Kerns as Secretary; printed by Utah Litho Co., SLC; U/C; The Hayseed Mining Company was formed by Rhyolite promoters in February 1907. Early high assay numbers made the mine a favorite with speculators. The initial stock offering was 50,000 shares at 50-cents per share. Within two months the stock had risen to 75-cents per share.
