Three groups of items, including: 1) Lundy, 4 images, two each mounted on ledger paper. Three images are of lakes and the surrounding mountains, while the fourth is of three women and four men standing outside of a cooking tent. Several men have been fishing, while one woman is holding a frying pan. Lundy, formerly Mill Creek, was a settlement in Mono County, California, located on Mill Creek in Lundy Canon near the west end of Lundy Lake. Sitting at 7858 ft., it was named after W.J. Lundy, operator of a sawmill near the lake. The mill was a major timber producer for the mining town of Bodie, California. Lundy also had a mining camp that was established in 1879, and a post office open from 1880-1914 [Ref: Durham, 1998, pp. 1181]. 2) June Lake images, 39, from 1929-1931. Family photos mounted on album paper, measuring 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" to 4" x 2 1/2", some with captions. The settlement of June Lake, next to the lake proper, is an unincorporated community in Mono County, California. Located against the southern rim of Mono Basin, about 12.5 miles south of Lee Vining. The majority of the developed community is spread along a five-mile stretch road known as the June Lake Loop Road. 3) Group of 37 Sierra Nevada photographs, each 4 1/2" x 5 1/2". Images include rocky mountains, likely eastern Sierra; same lake scenes; several images of people on horseback; several at a resort, and a few with snowfields in the scene.
