This lot contains 6 receipts from various entities in historic Bodie. 1) A Warrant from the State of California to the Treasurer of Mono County, requesting that three dollars be paid to G. G. Welch. Dated May 10, 1872, numbered 1746. Very clean, with slight fold creasing. 2) A receipt dated August 23, 1899 from the Receiver of Bodie Lodge No. 143. Requesting that a P. Frahey be paid $1.90 on account of overcharge on dues. Signed off by the Master Workman. A note on reverse indicates that this balance was paid by check number 21362. Clean, except for small stain in center and small notch missing from paper. Bears an embossed seal from the Bodie Lodge. 3) A Warrant Upon the County Treasurer of Mono County, dated January 14, 1875, noting that the Treasurer of Mono County will pay from the Antelope School Fund to M. D. Bowen or order, one hundred twelve + a half dollars, on account on one and a half months teaching in Antelope School District. Signed by the County Superintendent of Common Schools. Very good condition, with light fold creasing, a small thumbprint stain on the upper left, and an inscription indicating that the balance was paid on February 3 1875. 4) A warrant from Bridgeport, Mono County, indicating that the Treasurer of the County of Mono will pay Frank Shaw twelve dollars for his account for 13 days of service as per order. Signed by the county Auditor, J. W. Towle, and dated November 3, 1875. Number 286. Printed in red ink, with a liberty vignette on the left side. A note on reverse indicates that this balance was not paid for want of funds. Very clean, with light fold creasing. 5) A wedding invitation printed on a clean white card with matching, unmarked envelope. The card is printed, Mr. And Mrs. James Sinnamon/ announce the marriage of their daughter/ Lottie Ray/ to/ Mr. James Albert Twelves/ on Thursday, June the twentieth/ nineteen hundred and seven/ Hamil Station, California. Very clean and intact. 6) A receipt from San Francisco, September 11 1893, noting that $170 dollars were received from Bodie Lodge No. 143. This receipt bears a Grand Lodge seal printed in the lower left corner, and is blank on reverse. Foxed and yellowed with age, but very legible. The upper and lower right corners are very slightly damaged. This lot is a great assortment of receipts for transactions that took place in, around, and between Bodie business interests. HKA#63948
