Lot of 8. 1) Four ledger sheets with "Ancient Order United Workmen, San Francisco, Cal. Bodie Lodge, No. 143. To Grand Lodge of California, Dr." printed on masthead. Dated Aug 1899, Sep 1899, Oct 1899, and one undated, with "Bill Rendered" lined out above entries. Entries include 150 letterheads, 5 Rituals, and 50 envelopes. Each has foldlines, one with substantial watermarks. 2) 1902 booklet, "By-Laws of Bodie Lodge No. 143. A.O.U.W. Printed at office of Bodie Miner, Idaho. H.W. Wood, Publisher. Indexed, eight pages, measures 3" x 5". 3) Dance card program for the "21st Anniversary of the A.O.U.W. Bodie Lodge No. 143. Bodies. Oct. 28, 1889. Illustration on front appears to be a bear walking across railroad tracks. Listed on the last page of four are members of the Committee of Arrangements, reception Committee, Floor Managers, Floor Director, and Prompter. Suspended using blue string with gold tassel. 4) Note with no masthead. "Bodie Lodge, April 1, 1883" hand-written across top. Bill for $25 "To Rent of Hall for April." "Bills" appears to be written in pencil on reverse. Other writing on piece difficult to discern. 5) Nine small receipts, some with A.O.U.W. symbol ( shield with AOUW emblazoned on it, resting on an anchor, with "Alterum, Alterius, Auxilio, and Eget" written on banners hanging from the shield) in the upper left. Each note is signed by a Recorder and a Master Workman. Varied collection of items from this group.
