Incorporated in Arizona, Cert. #2054, issued in 1908 for 200 shares at Bishop, Cal. to Geo. W. Neill, signed by L.C. Hall as president. Mines Located Near Bishop, Inyo County, California printed at the bottom. Seven mining vignettes. The Black Canyon mine is located in the White Mountains of the Inyo National Forest at 5,876 foot elevation. Situated near Black Canyon Road, the mine is 7.9 miles from Poleta in Inyo County. According to the Western Investor’s Review, November, 1907, the company had opened a large ore chamber and had over 2,000 sq.ft. of surface in this ore drift, all ore, and every bit carrying free gold in good quantity. Samples taken at random from the chamber assayed at over $100 per ton. A.C. Ringwald, president of the Rochelle Mining Company visited the Black Canyon mine and described it as, “a great mine with ore in every drift, winze and stope that has been opened on the property”. We were unable to determine what production the company was ultimately able to achieve or whether the Investor’s Review piece was puffery. Black print on crème with gold seal. Seven mining vignettes.
