Lot of 5: 1) Beautiful, colorful pictorial advertising promotional piece: "Souvenir Glimpses of California, The Land of the Setting Sun, Compliments of Palace Hardware Co. Of San Francisco, Cal." Softcover, 5 pages with heavy cardstock front and back covers. Attached with green ribbon through three punch-holes. Cover has image of Vernal FalIs, while right inside pages have photographs of the City of San Francisco, Old Missions, Views Around San Francisco Bay, Mountains and Lakes, and Scenes in Yosemite. On the left inside pages are items available at Palace Hardware Co., 603 Market Street, San Francisco, Cal. "Household Necessities, Cutlery, Venetian Ironwork, Aluminum Goods, and Cabinet Hardware all have featured pages. Measures 13" x 11", with some discoloration on the left side of the cover page, otherwise very fine. 2) "Pictorial California, Vol. II No. 11, Published monthly by Eugene Swarzwald, 1231 So. Olive St., Los Angeles, Calif., U.S.A." Published October, 1927, it measure 10" x 13 1/2", softcover, 23 pages including many photographs covering "Swimming the Golden Gate, Lone Eagle's New Flight, Ghost Town, and Guardians of the Pacific Coast." Several interior pages separating from spine. Printed by the California Rotogravure Corporation, 130 S. Broadway, L.A. Printing using rotogravure technique, "Pictorial California in bound volume containing twelve issues-more than 500 pictures in rotogravure."3) "Souvenir of the Annual Spring Exhibition of the California State Floral Society Held in the Grand Nave of the Ferry Building, San Francisco, California, May 22, 23, and 24, 1902. Measures 7" x 6", about 20 pages, including several photographs, illustrations, and advertisements. Also has "odes" to poppies, sweet peas, roses, and daffodils. 4)Rare and early San Francisco Water Supply Paper: "The Water Supply Of San Francisco" by The Blair-Murdock Company, San Francisco. Softcover, nearly 60 pages including many photographs and maps (color fold-out map attached to inside back cover). The text describes the rise of the Spring Valley Water Company from its founding in 1858 by George Ensign, its take over by stronger financial backing in 1860, and its point where "the growth of the properties of the Spring Valley Water Company has kept pace with the growth of San Francisco." Measures 10" x 7", the front and back covers and pages are attached and repaired by tape. 5) "Whittier, California, Some of Its Advantages and Resources, City of Homes and Solid Prosperity, Compliments of Whittier Board of Trade." Dated 1906, the pamphlet measures 8" x 5 1/2", and contains many photographs in its 16 pages. The text describes the founding of the city, its location, its educational facilities, and its extensive citrus fruit industry. Both the front and back covers, along with each page, have been stained amd exhibit a pungent odor.
