<B>Carl Van Doren: Signed First Trade Edition of <I>Benjamin Franklin</B></I>.</B></I> (New York: The Viking Press, 1938), first edition thus, 845 pages, light brown cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and front board, 8vo (6.25" x 9.25"), no dust jacket. Inscribed and signed "<I>For John Henry Hobart Lyon All the words Carl Van Doren 25 January 1939</B></I>" on the title page. The book is in very good condition, with some fading to the gilt lettering, mild shelf wear, and the front hinge is a touch loose.
