C.S. Pettengill Army Model percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #2942. This gun is in overall good condition showing an even light brown patina on metal surfaces with some scattered slight areas of erosion, general pin prick pitting overall; good markings, dark bore, good action and grips. There are martial inspector stamps on the frame, cylinder and barrel and what appears to be a very faint top line of an inspector’s cartouche on the left side of the grips just below the screw escutcheon and what appears to be a “K” scratched into the right grip. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
