Modified British military lever-operated breech loading single shot service rifle re-chambered for .22 caliber ammunition manufactured circa 1873. Features a bright blued finish with a 26" barrel, ramped blade front sight with white bead, BSA adjustable aperture rear sight mounted on the wrist, two barrel bands, metal forend cap, serrated trigger, short lever, green canvas sling, full length smooth forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass disc and knurled buttplate. Marked '[crown]/VR, Enfield/1873, and II/2' on the right side of the receiver, 'Converted by C.G. Bonehill of Birmingham for the Society of the Miniature Rifle Clubs' on the left side of the receiver. Barrel is marked 'C.G. Bonehill Birmingham guaranteed British and 22L'. The brass stock disc is marked 'J.T. Thompson .Thorner.' Rifle exhibits approximately 95% of its blued finish showing light scattered wear. Action is sound, bore is pristine and wood stocks are good showing several blemishes with a 2 1/4" extension has been added to the butt.
