Civil War Union general. Partly-printed DS, one page, 7 x 4, August 14, 1865. Order issued to the Military Superintendant of the Old Capitol Prison reads in full: “You will immediately release the person of Major Moses F. Webb Pay master now in your custody to be released on pardon.” Signed at the conclusion by Auger. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, small hole to center of page, and a uniform shade of mild toning, with some spots of heavier toning to left side.
