C.1930 Northern Pacific Yellowstone Park Poster
This modern poster is a hard to find reproduction of a 1930's Northern Pacific Yellowstone Park Line poster by Hilton. Seaverns Hilton was a designer from Maine who worked in New York and Boston. Hilton also pursued illustration art, and created several posters for the Northern Pacific Railroad. The poster features a cowboy, with six-shooters blaring, on a galloping horse. The street scene in background shows a wild town. A white banner across the bottom bears the caption, in black letters: "Before the days of the Railroad / This Town was a Little Unsafe / The Northern Pacific Brought Order & Prosperity." Northern Pacific logo with "Yellowstone Park Line" on either end of banner. It is likely this poster was based on Livingston Montana. The poster measures 26" x 20" and is in very good condition.
