Featured in this lot is this collection of three gas and oil wooden crates circa 1920-40s. This first in this collection is from Shell Oil Company in Bozeman, Montana and is a "Shell Aviation Gasoline" crate. The crate reads, "Shell Aviation Gasoline" in red lettering on either side of the crate. The bottom of the crate reads, "This Side Use No Hooks / Shell Oil Co. Bozeman, Mont" in black lettering. The crate shows good condition with some fading and wear to the lettering and wood but is still in good usable or display condition. This crate measures 10 1/4" L x 21" W x 14 3/8" H. The second crate in this collection is from Standard Oil Company and originates from Indiana. The crate shows an all wood construction with a white cloth band wrapped around the entire crate. On one side the crate reads, "Standard Oil Company Indiana / Service Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." in black lettering. The other side reads, "4041 1-5 Gallon Can Semdac Liquid Gloss Standard Oil Co. (Indiana)" in black lettering. The crate shows good condition with no signs of obvious damage and some slight wear from its vintage age and use over the years, but is still in good usable or display condition. The crate measures 11" L x 10 1/2" W x 15 5/16" H. The final crate in this collection is from Conoco Incorporated. The front of the crate reads, "2-5 Gal. Cans / Aviation Gasoline Conoco / Highly Flammable / Continental Oil Company / Not Sold For Illuminating Purposes in Buildings". On the back of the crate it shows a red "Danger" sticker. The crate is in good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage and some slight wear. The crate is still in good useable and display condition. The crate measures 20 7/8" L x 10 1/2" W x 15 1/4" H.
