C. 1910 Junghans Mahogany Westminster Mantel Clock
Featured in this lot is a Vintage Junghans Mahogany Westminster Chime Mantel Clock, circa 1910s-1920s. Following the registration as early as 1877 of the first factory trademark, "eagle with flag", the Junghans trademark, a clock cogwheel fashioned into a eight-pointed star, became the brand symbol in 1890. Junghans was one of the first Black Forest clockmakers to adopt American production methods, first making American-style clocks and later adopting more of a German style. By 1900, Junghans was the world's largest clockmaker. The movement of this Junghans mantel clock appears to be intact. Rounded mahogany case, silvered face with secondary chime/silent and slow/fast dials, marked Junghans Wurttemberg immediately under the numeral six. This mantel clock is in good preserved condition, case exhibits scuffing. Movement keys not included. Measures 13.75"H x 11.5"W x x 7.5"D
