The lot features a total of 22 original guidebooks, travel pamphlets and maps from America from circa 1900-1950’s with some being fairly rare (with 2 French and Swiss 1920’s pieces). In no particular order the collection includes the 1906 Boston and Maine Railroad Vacation Days in Southern New Hampshire showing an illustration of a golfer and tennis player in front of a river with a farming photograph on the back. Next the 1936 White Pass & Yukon Route “A Hand Book of Vacation Trips in Alaska and the Yukon on the White Pass and Yukon Route showing a steamboat photograph on the front and back, from Poole Bros. Inc Chicago 1936 (4-15-35). Next the 1949 Seeing Alaska guidebook / map which when folded out shows the A.W.T. from the Alaska Development Board 1949 as well as various Alaska photographs and a Glover illustration on the front with a totem pole, bus, plane, and ship in front of towering Alaska Mountains. Next is the 1951 Alaska U.S. Department of the interior Office of Territories guidebook which has illustrations, a map and photos. Next is the 1953 The Alaska Line Alaska Steamship Co. original ticket and envelope; includes the colorful envelope with steamship and the fold out original one-way ticket with information and $292.10 cost in 1953. Next is the 1950’s Alaska “Gold Diggers’ Cruise” guidebook showing a totem across the front and folds out to the map and photographs. Next is the 1953 Arctic Alaska Tours from the Golden Belt Line Tour Alaska Steamship Co. Vessels SS. Aleutian or SS. Baranof put out by the Artic Alaska Tour Offices; the guidebook folds out to photographs and a map. Next is the early Greyhound and Union Pacific Stages a good natured map of the United States with cowboy and wildlife illustration on the front and folds out to a beautiful colorful map of the U.S. with comical animation illustrations from Pacific Greyhound Lines printed by Sunset Press, S.F. Next is the 1954 Chicago Northwestern System Union Pacific Railroad fold out which tours Yellowstone, Grand Teton N.P. Salt Lake City – Denver. Next is the 1926 Salt Lake City guidebook pamphlet with iconic graphics. Next is the 1928 Grand Teton National Park guidebook / pamphlet showing a photograph of Mt. Moran and Jackson Lake by S.T. Anderson 1928; the pamphlet folds out to show additional beautiful Crandall and Sheffield photograph; overall good to fair condition with a hole at the top right corner when folded. Next is an interesting one, the 1940-1950’s Wyoming Sportsmen’s Guide with detailed maps which includes a total of 20 original Wyoming maps (10 fold outs that are double sided) all are marked copyrighted by Edw. W. Pulver & Son as well as the fold out being marked as such. Also included is the 1969 From Jasper to Tourist in Jackson Hole by Elizabeth Wied Hayden guidebook, Along Your Way Santa Fe System Lines railway guidebook, 1930 Chicago The City Beautiful showing a colorful cover and wonderful illustrated guidebook, 1930 Pictorial Chicago in Color illustrated book, 1930’s Hoover (Boulder) Dam and the Lake Mead Recreational Area also in beautiful color, 1940’s Northwest Airlines Flight Kit seat back welcome aboard packet containing the NWA folder, oval advertising for the “New” Boeing 80-passenger Stratocruiser plane, and the Northwest Passage coast-to-coast Air Map and Flight log guidebook of maps and illustrations. Next are two 1968 Burlington Northern Inc. Rocky Mountain Division Time Table 1 booklets. Lastly are two foreign guidebooks; the 1920 Sports and the P.L.M. Railway by G. Rozet J. Barreau imprimeur from France with beautiful illustration of a woman skating on the front and man golfing on the back; and the 1920’s Switzerland Skiing Voyages Wirtz Sports D’Hiver dans la Suisse Centrale booklet of skiing photographs. Overall good condition. Ranging in size with he largest being approx. 9.75” by 9.5”.
