Featured in this lot is this martial Indian Tulwar double fuller sword circa late 18th-century to early 19th-century. This sword features a wonderfully and professionally crafted steel construction that shows a double fuller with a sharpened tip and a curved blade and a full tang. The is characters tooled into the blade identifying the owner or family or martial order the blade belonged to, along with a trade stamp. The Tulwar is a type of curved sword that was widely used in India, particularly during the 19th century, though its origins date back to earlier periods. It is one of the most iconic weapons associated with Indian warriors, especially among the Rajputs, Sikhs, Marathas, and other martial communities. The condition of this Tulwar is well preserved with some oxidation to the blade and shows some patina to it and the handle is missing exposing the full tang of the blade but otherwise is well preserved. The measurements of this sword blade is 29 5/8" x 1 5/8". The collective weight of this sword is 1lb 4oz.
