C. 1890-1920 Bradley & Hubbard Art Nouveau Pipe Smoking Trays
The lot features two fantastic Art Nouveau pipe smoking trays or pipe stands dating to circa 1890-1920's. The first is a "B&H 2167" signed / marked Bradley and Hubbard pipe tray, a bronze glazed spelter pipe tray from circa 1890-1910. Secondly is a brass / bronze pipe tray attributed to Sargent and Company circa 1900-1920 showing a New England fisherman. The catch-all, coin dish or pipe tray exhibits a classic fisherman wearing a traditional fishing hat and smoking a pipe. The back is not marked, but the piece is identical to other Sargent examples. Sargent and Company (New Haven, Connecticut, 1864-present). The condition of this pair of pipe stands or trays is good with some patina adorning both the ashtrays but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of these trays is 5/8" x 7 5/8" x 5" and 7/8" x 6 1/8" x 5". The collective weight of these ashtrays is 1lb 8oz.
