<td width="100%">
Circa 1662-1722 Chinese Export Genuine Excellent Charger from the Kangxi Period measuring 11" in diameter mounted in the gold gilded bronze ormolu mount that dates from 1820. The total height to the top of the ormolu handle measures over 11" and the ormolu width measures 12 1/2" at the widest point. In addition to the mounting is a handle in the same exact ormolu. The Kangxi Charger has the old stapled metal repairs that were done probably in excess of 175 years ago. The staples are on the bottom and side of the plate/charger and are hardly visable from the top side. Only a museum or a family of aristocrats would have a estate with such a item. These lustrous gold gilded mounts, with winged lion's head feet are in perfect condition and to have a handle survive all these years is a miracle. Underglazed blue double ring mark shown in one of the images is beautiful with hardly any wear. This piece just recently came out of a very important Estate in the Gawdy Hall, Norfolk area in the United Kingdom on a recent buying trip. Many additional images are available upon requestand Serious Buyers are urged to ask for these images.
